About
An independent desk between two markets.
Anchorline Global was set up to remove the guesswork from sourcing across the US–Sri Lanka corridor.
Buyers on either side of the US–Sri Lanka corridor know what they need but may not know which counterparty in the other market can deliver the right volume, quality, and price. Suppliers in both markets may also lack a direct path to the right buyers. We sit in the middle of that gap.
We're a small, deliberately narrow operation. We only work the US–Sri Lanka corridor, which means we know the product categories, certification expectations, and practical realities of moving goods between the two markets.
Every inquiry we receive, buyer or supplier, is logged against a reference number and worked by hand. There's no marketplace algorithm and no automated matching. A person reads your requirement.
What we do
- Capture and clarify buyer requirements and supplier capabilities.
- Identify and approach counterparties that fit the requirement.
- Make direct introductions between buyer and supplier.
- Keep both sides informed on inquiry status through to introduction.
- Where requested, purchase and forward goods on the buyer's behalf (see Where Our Role Begins and Ends below).
Who We Are
Anchorline Global focuses on practical, person-to-person sourcing across the US–Sri Lanka corridor, in both directions: Sri Lankan manufacturers reaching US buyers, and US suppliers reaching Sri Lankan buyers. We work Spices, Tea, and Coconut Charcoal from Sri Lanka to the US, and Beauty, Bath & Body Care Products from the US to Sri Lanka, plus cross-border retail purchasing in either direction, and we tell you plainly what we can and can't do for your requirement.
Who's behind Anchorline
Anchorline Global is run as a small owner-operated desk, not a call center. The same person who reads your inquiry works it through to introduction, so you always know who you are dealing with.
We keep an operating presence on both ends of the US–Sri Lanka corridor: a US-registered office in Irvine, California for buyer-side contact, and direct working relationships with producers and exporters on the ground in Sri Lanka. That Sri Lankan presence is the difference between a directory listing and a supplier we can actually reach by phone.
Where Our Role Begins and Ends
We work in one of two models, and we confirm which one applies before any work begins. In most engagements, we introduce you directly to a counterparty and step back. For buyers who want the purchase handled for them, we can buy the goods ourselves and ship them as principal for that one transaction, for a fee. Both models operate in either direction across the US–Sri Lanka corridor. The table below sets out exactly what changes between the two.
Introduction model
Our default. Introduction fees apply, details shared during onboarding.
- What it includes
- We capture and clarify the requirement, approach counterparties in the US–Sri Lanka corridor, and make a direct introduction. After that the two parties deal with each other.
- Who bears risk
- Buyer and supplier. We don't take title to the goods, hold funds, guarantee product quality, delivery, or counterparty performance, and we aren't a party to the contract between them.
- Who handles the transaction
- Pricing, contracts, inspection, payment, and shipping are agreed and carried out directly between buyer and supplier.
- When it applies
- Standard for suppliers and for buyers who already have their own import, payment, and freight arrangements.
Principal model
Optional, fee-based, per transaction.
- What it includes
- We purchase the goods from the supplier ourselves, agree pricing on that purchase, arrange shipment, and sell the goods on to you as principal for that specific order.
- Who bears risk
- We take title to the goods for that transaction and carry the supplier-side purchase and shipment risk, on the terms of that specific agreement. Product performance in use, and anything outside those agreed terms, stays with the manufacturer. Because you contract with us, we're responsible for paying the supplier and delivering according to our agreement. If we fail to pay the supplier or deliver after receiving your payment, that's Anchorline's performance failure under that agreement, subject to the remedies and limits it sets out.
- Who handles the transaction
- We handle supplier pricing, purchase, freight, and delivery to the agreed point. You contract with us rather than with the supplier.
- When it applies
- Examples include buyers without their own import setup, smaller trial orders, US retail purchases shipped to Sri Lankan buyers, and Sri Lankan products shipped to US buyers.
For either model, applicable fees, payment timing, and scope are disclosed and agreed in writing before work begins. Under the Principal Model, you pay Anchorline according to the transaction agreement, and Anchorline pays the supplier. Due diligence and quality inspection are always worth doing on your own account. Ask us which model fits your inquiry, and we'll tell you plainly before you commit to anything.
